Greetings and Salutations from Sunny Philadelphia! Your Leaf Your Life and Philly Kratom (Me) hope you made the most out of a CRAZY 2020! This year has been filled with ups and downs but at the end of the day we are still bringing the heat! Have you ever had a strain that was sooooo good and something ends up happening and you cant get it any more? Or it loses that magic? It happens to all of us, but when you're a Vendor it hurts even more. In 2019 we were really bringing it and then we lost some of our best stuff. 2020 was a year of rebuilding from the ground up and it ended with us securing a lot of excellent offerings! The two most recent additions are White Borneo and Green MD (Pure). These are both Micro Grind (our only nano is Green Aceh, very bright and uplifting) and they are getting very good feedback from everyone who has tried them! We intend to add more selections from this farmer going into the spring (dry) season.
Our main focus is always Freshness and Clean Leaf. We believe that finding conscientious farmers who keep a clean facility is of the utmost importance. And last but certainly not least is potency! Before we opened Philly Kratom I reviewed 100s of companies on Youtube and had the opportunity to speak with many farmers. There are so many variations in the way that each Farmer processes the leaf. It starts with harvesting off of the tree and then it gets washed. What are they washing it with? Is it fresh water or is it river water? Do they use any additives when washing the leaves? Our farmers use fresh water with no additives.
What kind of outdoor drying equipment are they using? Do they use tarps that are laid on the ground or have they built racks with mesh in an outdoor drying room? The farmers we use mostly dry indoors, but for the darker or fermented stuff they have outdoor drying sheds with retractable roof to finish the leaves with full sun.
Nano grind has become very popular as of late, and it definetely has some advantages. It dissolves way better in a cup of liquid and sometimes it seems to digest faster, giving a faster onset. My experience is just this, but it also seems to have a shorter duration. It is also harder to see small differences in the way it was processed. Nano also looks brighter due to more surface area in my opinion. Micro grind has always been my favorite. It doesent dissolve as well as Nano, but it seems to have a longer duration. It is also easier to see small differences in the way the leaf is processed. We mostly carry Micro Grind, with the exception of Green Aceh Nano.
At this point Im just rambling, but you get the hint, we love the Leaf just as much as you do! This year is full of promise for the Industry, and I truly believe we will gain some much needed ground as far as advocacy! So if you have been blessed by this leaf, if it has given you a small piece of freedom back, tell your story to others and REPRESENT THE COMMUNITY!
Much Love From Philadelphia,
