Has anyone here had Kratom WD & were you able to overcome it?
I'm new here and made a thread already and I can be long winded so I don't want to have to repeat too much of what I wrote in my other thread but I'll have to re-post some of it, so I'll mention what's necessary:
I started using Kratom 4 years ago at low doses (2 grams--3 times a day) but only one day a week and never had WD, then 2 days a week, still no WD, but when I got to 3 days a week I started getting some fatigue, and at 4 it got worse.
I never wanted to become dependent and would never let myself use more than 4 days a week thinking that would be good enough, but hadn't realized the problem with escalating dose and tolerance, and eventually was up to 16 grams a dose and 2 ounces a day, but still only taking it 3 days a week. The lethargy and fatigue became too much and I had to stop, wishing I didn't, but having no choice.
I stopped 3 months thinking it would lower my tolerance, and it didn't effect my tolerance AT ALL.
Went back to using, it got worse.
I said i'd stop permanently, but after a 10 month break I wanted to use it again because it lifts my mood so much and makes it feel like i have no anxiety or depression (both issues I have).
My tolerance was back to 2 grams, and I said I wouldn't escalate doses, but I did.
Again, first 2-3 months only very little WD at 3 days a week, but more and more showed up as my tolerance escalated and I should have had the willpower to use lower doses.
Now it's unmanagable again, and I sleep 12 hours a night on the days I don't dose and wake up having no energy like I have a cold, feeling depressed and with a runny nose.
Some people seem to act like these effects can't happen though...
I do not want to quit Kratom, but it seems I have no choice but to temporarily stop, and I don't know if it's necesarily possible given my dosing trends to solve this issue and keep Kratom in my life, which I REALLY want to.
I do not want to use it daily as I know WD gets worse, and so I refuse to go that route, and that means if there are any WD effects I will feel them on the off days.
I want Kratom to stay legal, I donate money, but different forums speak of Kratom differently. Some are more "Kratom for partying" forums, others more "Kratom for medicine" forums, and then you do have the "Quitting Kratom" forum on Reddit which really does admit to the negative WD effects this otherwise wonderful plant can have.
I DO believe Kratom is SAFE, in so far as I do not think it can really hurt someone physically, but I know first hand it can have some unpleasant WD effects, and yet, in browsing this forum, I have yet to see anyone mention that they themselves have had Withdrawal.
I would like to speak to anyone on here who has in fact, had Kratom WD, knows that over use can cause it, and perhaps has found any ways around experiencing that withdrawal WITHOUT taking it daily or completely quitting either, and only using like 2-3 days a week.
I have considered but not tried: potentiators and strain rotation.
Perhaps they could work for me.
I mean, with this pattern being the same both times, I wonder if I can solve this issue by learning more about the plant itself and how to use it more responsibly.
If it's been fine before at lower doses during the 1st couple months it would stand to reason that IF I could stick to the lower doses I could keep it in my life, but history does tend to repeat itself and unless things like potentiators, strain rotation or strategies for lowering tolerance or beating WD can work, I don't know if I can keep taking it.
So if anyone here has experienced unpleasant Kratom WD and figured out how to take it a couple days a week and avoid it by changing something around, please let me know what you did to achieve this.
