Did you see the salmonella in kratom article? Dated 3-3-2018
This news has been going around for a few weeks now. There are thousands of these cases every year yet Kratom is getting the spotlight. All plant material comes with its risks and many plant products are recalled every year over most other non plant products. One of the reasons the FDA doesn't like plant remedies because even a tested batch can have contaminates slip through. Like the one parasitic egg from a slug that didn't make it in the scoop for the test sample.
The person loading the bag may have not been wearing gloves, the person using it as well and the list goes on.
I am for testing because it is required by law but also not naive enough to think that testing plant products outside of heavy metals and pesticides is going to protect me from natures cunning.
This is part of the whole Kratom smear campaign IMO since there is no actual,"outbreak" to CDC's standards. It is a kin to the guy who died of a shotgun wound and Kratom happened to be on the scene.
If one wants to be extra safe no matter what they are eating, wash your hands, make tea with 150F+ temp water.
To be clear I believe testing is a great thing to do and I am in no way apposed to it but it is not 100% effective. Ultraviolet light or radiating is the only way to get closer to the 100% mark. Those who want it banned or are not aware of what Kratom really is are grasping at straws at this point. If some one sprinkled kratom on the recently recalled iceburg lettuce that had salmonella on it, kratom would have gotten the Rap at this point.
“We're all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it doesn't. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing.”
