Question about interactions
I am doing psychedelic-assisted therapy to address PTSD, and wondering if kratom has any negative interactions with this (psylocybin--mushrooms-- and MDMA--ecstasy). This is a one-time use of psychedelics (not on-going or recreational). I take 1 teaspoon--about 2 grams-- of kratom daily for arthritis pain. If it is recommended to stop taking kratom before taking the other medicines, how early should I stop/how long does it stay in your system: do I need to stop taking kratom the week prior to taking the other medicines or just a day prior? I appreciate the advice!
Hi @bellacat, happy to meet you !
In the 4 years I’ve been taking kratom ... daily .... I’ve had a couple sessions with psychedelics. Psilocybin particularly. I feel strongly instinctively that there’s no problem derived from having a kratom regimen and then deciding to take some therapeutic mushrooms or ...? I’m not giving medical advice, only anecdotal reference . I had a very warm and healing experience this past year . The amount you take is extremely low in comparison to what I take on a daily basis . Which is approximately 30gms . Based on my experience, I think you’d be just fine ... no bad interactions . I believe in the power of herbs we have to utilize , and wish you the best session and outcome for some good healing ❤️ Hope this little bit of info helps you 🙏🍂
That said ... listen to your body and make the best judgment call for you .
Take good care my friend ❤️

Thank you so much!
Kratom might level off any euphoria you get, but in exchange it could extend it, albeit at a lower intensity.
The anti-anxiety effects could be synergistic, as they'd be coming from different processes in your body.
Are you thinking of taking low doses/micro dosing? I see a number of posts on Reddit regarding that.
Btw, In Sense Botanicals sells more than Kratom, and some of their other herbals might suit you. ILKFORME15% is a discount code we use there, though I always forget if it also works for the other botanicals section. You apply it at checkout.
You might like the Skullcap, and Incarvillea Sinensis. They recently added Frankinsense/Boswellia Extract and Valerian Root Extract.
The Incarvillea Sinensis and the Boswellia are good for pain and inflammation, while the Skullcap and Valerian Root are good for a relaxed mood. I can vouch for all four of those from past use, though I've yet to try their Boswellia and Valerian Root.
The Boswellia is more about reducing inflammation, and thus pain, while the Incarvillea Sinensis might be seen as taking a more direct approach.
I buy Passion Flower extract from Bulk Supplements at Amazon. Pretty cost effective in the larger sizes. Which reminds me, I'm out of Lemon Balm, which is also good.
Good to see you checking it out on the best forums before your appt.
I’m anxious to hear how you feel about the therapy after you’ve had it and had some time to reflect.
If it were me, I would want to be clear of kratom to fully understand the benefit of the treatment. Starting the afternoon before. That’s just what I would do.
Have a wee bit better day!
