The Scent of a Woman, The Color of Money, The Smoky Taste of Elevated Botanicals Blackened Kratom
I was going to say I'd love hear a bit of how this extremely intriguing Kratom was processed, but just now I checked the product page.
How we make our Blackened Kratom
We use an industrial pottery kiln to fire cure a 50/50 blend of Red Maeng Da and Red Bali. Protecting the integrity of the alkaloids is our number #1 priority in this process. Therefore, we slowly cure each batch for 6 hours at 150 degrees as to not degrade the potency of the mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. This process actually seems to allow the alkaloids to be released better, similar to how the heat from cooking food releases more nutrients that remain impotent in a raw state.
Sold exclusively as an ingredient for soap making or aromatherapy. Not intended for human consumption.
The kiln curing process turns the bright green powder to a subtle amber color. We then add a small amount of kratom that has been smoked to the cured batch to further enhance the overall aroma. The exact ratio being 90% cured to 10% smoked.
The initial smell had me immediately thinking of Black Bali, but a moment after that I was surprised when I got a peek at this Blackened Kratom's amber (like in waves of grain) color. A very nice contrast between aroma and appearance. 🙂
This is melt in your mouth Kratom, and it leads to a unique experience, that of have your mouth enveloped with the taste of smoke. Almost spooky, and the additional taste of blackened toast that comes along for the ride gives the swallowing process some weight.
The burn was pretty profound in that it was relaxing but also elevating, slow but not sedating, and while it gave a good amount of relief from pain and inflammation the "buzz" it gave would keep me from using this in larger amounts, or numerous servings, for pain relief.
Lol, the sense of consuming a tasty smoke puts you on notice to expect something interesting. 😉
I've only taken this once, on its own, and in a moderate amount. Tomorrow I'll blend it with a bit of the fast In Sense Fuzzy Dragon extract I have so as to see if that brings about a different kind of magic, one geared for the morning.
About three hours after taking the Blackened Kratom I took a bit of the White Borneo that Elevated Botanicals generously provided as an additional sample. That faster strain dovetailed really well with the Blackened Kratom, and it deserves a later review of its own.
P.S. Like the Black Bali I have, this strain could be an excellent choice for times of wanting an aid to preparing for bed time.
@babel-17 Thanks for the honest feedback and I'm glad that sampling kit got to you fairly quikly! Your description was pretty close to what we were shooting for. It took a lot of trial/error, taste testing, mixing different strains, and playing with various degrees of temperatures and smoke profiles before we reached our goal. Which was to create a completely different experience from a traditional dried kratom powder.
I don't know how everyone else will experience it, but I find it to have a sort of almost caramelized flavor as well. It may not be for everyone, But I personally love it and found that it is much more hydrophilic too which is a huge plus for toss and wash.
I received the samples in last night's USPS delivery. It contained 26g ea of white Borneo and blackened kratom powder, a 3g RMD powder sample, and 30 red Bali caps. Nice Selection! 👍
@babel-17 My 1st results of the Blackened Kratom are inline with yours. 👍
It is very Smokey like some bents or very dark reds I have tried in the past.
I took a 500mg dose at 4pm and was anxiety free and calm 30 minutes later. After about 2 hours and having eaten my supper I was starting to feel more tired but part of that could have just been the heavy meal.
I took another 500mg at 7:30pm and by 8:30pm I was asleep and slept until 2am, which is a little longer for me than usual because of old age issues with needing to get and go to the bathroom. 🤣
I can't wait to try the other samples. The reds may need to wait for the weekend because I can't trust reds not to make me tired during work and also to make sure they don't wake me up at night as a very few reds do. Most reds calm me down and sedate me.
I meant to try the WB today in work but I forgot to bring it. 🤨
@elevatedbotanics Thanks again for the samples
My Grandkids say I’m a cuckoo head. 😉
I've got some more positive things to say about what you sent, and I still have to try the Red Borneo. I'll wait until I've given everything a more thorough going through before saying much more though.
But I want to add to my initial impression of the Blackened Kratom to say that I think it deserves credit for one of the most dream laden night I've had in a long time, and that being the case without taking any melatonin.
Very nice dreams, and I woke up feeling refreshed. I took some more this morning with a dash of something fast, as I said I would, and as I hoped it's an excellent combo. I can't expect to always get the kind of effects that that combo is bringing, but right now it's making for a long legged extension of the nice afterglow from last night's servings, plus the feeling of waking up from a great night's sleep.
I'm going to treat the Blackened Kratom with the same respect I give to other great stuff which I'm careful to not use so much that it no longer feels special. Many thanks!
Yes, or at least stick to your usual amount, and spaced away from your last serving, unless it was something fast.
After about an hour or so of the Kratom kicking in I was wondering just how much more profound the effects were going to get, because they were feeling a bit stronger than expected, and having had Black Bali and strong Red Bent in the past, I though I was pretty prepared to start with.
But I hadn't quite overdone it, though the serving did have long legs. Which makes blending it nice, though taking something medium speed or faster as the next serving should also work really well, as the "handoff" from one strain to the other can be a nice experience. That was my experience last night, taking the Elevated Botanicals White Borneo several hours after the Blackened Kratom.
Lol, I can't describe how fast that White Borneo is yet, given the strength of what preceded my sampling of it, but I assume it was faster, and that worked out for keeping me up a while longer. I took one capsule of the Red Bali before bedtime, and it was really nice, but I still give credit to the Blackened Kratom for setting things up for the evening, and my night's sleep.
Safe to say I’m really looking forward to trying @elevatedbotanics samples ... should get that in the next few days if shipping folks are in top form ! Thank you @Babel-17, great descriptions, I’m all in for the blackened leaf !!!
@tiggermanscrat , lowered anxiety and chilaxin vibes .... yes please !! Sounds mighty fine, mighty fine indeed !!!!
lookjng forward to hearing @nan70 ‘s take on it 😊
@elevatedbotanics.... thank you very much for hooking up the ILK crew 🙏🙏🙏 very much appreciated Scott 🤙🍂
Life is better with Kratom
😎🍃kratom saves lives 🍃😎
@somethingsacred Our pleasure bro! I understand that trust in any industry is earned, and what better way than to let some folks try some stuff for free that we put our hearts into!
@babel-17 If you continue to find that the blackened can be mixed with other strains to create other interesting experiences. Please let us know and we will look at making a special edition product and if you need some samples to experiment with, just let me know!
Thanks for the generous offer on top of the generous sample. Maybe down the road I'll take you up on it! Right now I have some good stuff that I think can blend not just well, but very well. There are basically two ways to go with that. One is to use something faster, the other way is to use something not much, or at all, faster, but which also has mellow attributes. That second choice is to me more intriguing.
I've got some choice product from a few vendors that really help with fostering an upbeat but relaxed mood, and I think that combining them one at a time with the Blackened Kratom won't eliminate what makes them feel special, but instead help provide an equally good, but unique, fusion.
While now no longer a going business, Soflo had a Gold MD that was full of good vibes, and I'm going to use that next in a blend. After that I have both plantation grown, and wild grown, Green Riau from In Sense/Gold Leaf Botanicals, and then Green Hangat from Texas Family Farms, and then Green Bar Bar Hulu from sevenohm.
I still have to try out your other samples more, but so far I'm impressed at their across the board the ability to help with staying calm, even the White Borneo not being "edgy" at all. Unless of course the effects of the slower strains are lingering on to such a great degree that such an effect is getting overshadowed. Strong Kratom, I ended up not taking my last serving of the day last night.
P.S. I wear one of those smart watches to bed, and it did record the amount of deep sleep that I got the other night, and it was indeed a record. 🙂
Ha, in my excitement to get started blending I wrote Texas Family Farm instead of Texas Family Harvest. Too late to do a second edit of my post above.
Update: Blending has been berry, berry, good to me, lol. The only issue being that it's "Less filling" and "More taste" so I felt tempted to do more than usual. It was like I felt both relaxed about, and motivated towards, taking more of the blend that hit the spot. It felt different from taking something slow, or something fast, which do what I expect and then I'm done, if you know what I mean.
I took the Soflo Gold MD with the Blackened Kratom, half a serving of each, and neither Kratom felt lessened much in effect from halving in size.
I'm doing 500 mg. serving sizes, total, fwiw, which lets me take the servings not too far apart while being able to get a sense of each individual one.
I just took the Green Hangat with the Blackened Kratom, and with that it feels like the Hangat was making the blend a bit faster than the Gold MD had. But not that much different, and very nice.
Holy jeepers, batman! The blending possibilities are literally endless! A kratom user’s work is never done!
Thanks for the extra detail about the blackened kratom, @Babel-17. I was seriously JUST getting started reading about it (I’m about 3 days behind life around me). “Blackened” is absolutely NOTHING LIKE my BLACK kratom. I have the black kratom from two vendors and I’m not yet sure what it actually is or where from. Maybe a gimmick? Maybe @somethingsacred would be interested in trying them out one of these days. I’ll set them aside in the bag I have for him. He will probably know what I should use them for...
Not to detract from the new vendor, Elevated Botanics.
Y’all check out the website. There are some interesting botanicals (if mushrooms qualify as botanical) available for grabbing while in the checkout line. <—- (People probably won’t know what that sentence means here soon. Everyone has everything delivered and nobody stands in line anymore.)..
Great thread of information!
Have a wee bit better day!
I tried the White Borneo today but wish I had waited for the weekend instead. 😱
I expected energy and clarity but got tired and foggy brained. ☹️
I took a 500mg dose at noon and in about 45 minutes my ability to think clearly to do my job no longer existed. lol
It serves me right, I should know better by now that every batch of kratom, no matter the strain name, can affect me differently.
It is a very fine, light green powder, with no grit, minimum bitterness, and with a slightly salty taste to me. 👍
I'll have to try a larger and smaller dose on the weekend to see if the affects change. If not, this could be blended with a fast white to take the edge off. 🤔
Still impatiently waiting to try the red md an the red bali caps. 😁
My Grandkids say I’m a cuckoo head. 😉
Lol, like I said, "so far I'm impressed at their across the board the ability to help with staying calm, even the White Borneo not being "edgy" at all."
I took some more of it today, and that serving came across as a leveler. By that I mean it delivered a bit of everything, in a balanced fashion. Maybe in your case getting "leveled" was more of a feeling of needing a couch, rather than a feeling of bouncing out of your chair, which would have been more desirable.
The harvest of Borneo Kratom as a whole might have been loaded with the Chillax alkaloids, and any variation is on top of that base, and can't nudge it too far from that.
I'm retired, and driven to distraction by everything in the news and this COVID lockdown, so I might be enjoying these strains a bit more than those who appreciate workaday strains.
Tomorrow I'll blend the White Borneo with the In Sense Fuzzy Dragon Enhanced blend. That has no added 7-hydroxymitragynine, so it's more of a fast strain than the non-enhanced version.
What you recounted jibes with my experience the other night, as the White Borneo I took didn't interfere with me getting a record amount of deep sleep.
